abstract A wholly aromatic liquid-crystal polyester composition for injection molding which is obtained by kneading 100 parts by mass of a wholly aromatic liquid-crystal polyester prepared by polycondensing 60 to 70% by mole of p-hydroxybenzoic acid with 40 to 30% by mole of a mixture of terephthalic acid and 4,4' -dihydroxydiphenyl and 0 to 5% by mole of isophthalic acid and/or hydroquinone (with the proviso that each component includes derivatives thereof and the total amount is 100% by mole) and 5 to 20 parts by mass of glass fiber having a number-average diameter of 5 to 20μm and an aspect ratio of 5 or above. The composition is excellent in damping property and useful as molding material for optical pickup holders for high-speed thin DVD reproduction devices or Blu-ray disc reproduction devices.
