abstract |
A honeycomb structure (1) is provided with a tube-like cell structure (2) wherein porous partition walls (4) are provided and a plurality of cells (5) are formed by being partitioned by the partition walls (4) to be flow channels of a fluid. The honeycomb structure is also provided with an outer circumference coat layer (3) arranged to cover the outer circumference of the cell structure (2). The outer circumference coat layer (3) is provided with an outer circumference coat layer section (6) arranged to cover the outer circumference of the cell structure (2), and a protruding section (7) which protrudes outward from an end surface (8) of the cell structure (2) and covers an outer side portion on the end surface (8) of the cell structure (2). The honeycomb structure (1) can effectively prevent breakage and peeling of the outer circumference coat layer (3). |
