abstract The invention relates to a filter for purifying a gas flow containing particles, in particular an exhaust gas flow that contains soot of an internal combustion engine. A filter device (14) comprising a filter element (18) made of a ceramic filter substrate is accommodated in a housing (16). All free surfaces of the grains (40) of the filter substrate are provided with a coating (42). The invention also relates to a method for producing said filter.
