abstract This invention concerns the following general formula (I) pyrimidino[1',6'-1,2]pyrido[3,4-b]indole in which R1 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkoxy group on C1-C6; R2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group on C1-C6; R3 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group on C1-C6 or an aryl group, the aryl group being possibly substituted by an alkyl group on C1-C6 or an alkoxy group on C1-C6; the dotted line between the 2 and 3 positions of the ring is absent, the dotted line between the 3 and 4 positions of the ring represent a bond, formula (II) represents formula (III) and formula (IV) represents formula (V) in which R5 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group on C1-C6b or the dotted line between the 3 and 4 position of the ring is absent, the dotted line between the 2 and 3 positions of the ring represent a bond, formula (IV) represents formula (III) and formula (II) represents formula (VI) in which R4 represents a hydrogen atom or halogen, an alkoxy group on Ci-C6 or an alkyl group on C1-C6; or their mixture, or corresponding pharmaceutically acceptable addition salt, or their isomers, enantiomers, diastereoisomers or their mixtures. It also concerns a preparation method for this compound, a pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition comprising it, and its usage in therapy, especially as a hypnotic agent.
