abstract | The invention provides a stable coating liquid for forming a photoreceptive layer with high productivity, and a production method of the coating liquid. High-performance electrophotographic photoreceptor and image forming apparatus are also provided, which can produce high quality images under various operating conditions substantially without the presence of image defects such as black spots, colored spots and the like. In a method for preparing the coating liquid for forming the photoreceptive layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor, containing a charge generation material and a binder resin, a dispersion medium having a mean particle size of 1.0 to 350 μm is used as the dispersion medium for dispersing the charge generation material in the coating liquid for forming the photoreceptive layer. The coating liquid for forming the photoreceptive layer prepared by the present method is favorable for the formation of the photoreceptive layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor. It is also preferable that a phthalocyanine pigment be used as the charge generation material and the 50% cumulative value (D50) of particle size distribution of the phthalocyanine pigment in the coating liquid be 0.13 μm or less when measured by the dynamic light-scattering method. |
