abstract A run flat tire having a sidewall reinforcement layer formed from a rubber composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a diene rubber and 5-120 parts by weight of nonmetallic short fibers having an average fiber diameter of 1-100 µm and an average fiber length of 0.1-20 mm, the nonmetallic short fibers being oriented in the tire-periphery direction. The run flat tire can be improved in both of comfortableness in riding and run flat performance.
