titleOfInvention Tpeptides for detecting or inducing production of antibodies against human papilloma virus, l1 protein or peptides from this protein.
abstract The invention refers to peptides useful for detecting infection by human papilloma virus by detecting specific antibody antigen compounds in immunoassays. The immunoreactive peptide antigens are synthetically produced L1 protein amino acid sequences from viral types HPV-16, HPV-18, HPV-31 and HPV-58. More specifically, the invention covers three peptides: Peptide 1, defined by SEQ ID NOS. 18283-16, 18283-31, 18283-33, 18283-58, 18283-18 or 18283-45; Peptide 2, as defined by SEQ ID NOS. 18294-16a, 18294-31, 18294-33, 18294-58, 18294-18, 18294-45 or 18294- 16b; and Peptide 3, as defined by SEQ ID NOS. 18301-16a, 18301-31, 18301-33, 18301-58, 18301-18, 18301-45 or 18301-16b; or peptides containing part of these sequences that react with antibodies induced by HPV, the HPV L1 protein or peptides derived from the HPV L1 protein. The invention is also related to methods for detecting antibodies induced by the human papilloma virus, L1 protein or peptides from this protein, particularly using peptides for detecting HPV infection.
