titleOfInvention | Coating composition for green tires |
abstract | Disclosed herein is a coating composition for green tires, which is applied on a green tire before a vulcanization process in order to realize blemish prevention during vulcanization of the tire and stain resistance after production of the tire. Such a coating composition is composed of a solid component for film formation including (a) 100 parts by weight of glass beads or polymer beads having a size of 0.001-500 micrometer, which function to form fine protrusions on the coated film so as to exhibit air bleed performance, to enable easy insertion of the green tire into a mold and smooth flow of rubber in the mold during vulcanization, to realize stain resistance on the surface of the tire coated therewith after vulcanization, and to maintain transparency of the coated film, (b) 2000 parts by weight or less of a binder functioning to confer flexibility to the coated film and to block the transfer of low-molecular- weight material to the surface of the tire while having high adhesion force to the tire, and (c) 2-2000 parts by weight of a surfactant, and (d) a dispersion medium for diluting the solid component. When the coating composition according to this invention is applied on the green tire, the generation of bare portions (referring to blemishes caused by folding, crack, protrusion, non-filling, and depression of rubber during vulcanization) is minimized upon a vulcanization process, and lubricating ability and re-leasability are exhibited. Further, the circumferential colored or white lines, letters, or barcodes on tires are not masked, discolored or stained. In addition, after vulcanization, stains or worsening of the external appearance of the tire may be minimized during transport, loading, storage and use of the tire. |
