titleOfInvention Electric intramedullary pin system
abstract The invention relates to an intramedullary pin system with an elongated nail body (12) that has a cavity (10), and that can, at least in sections, conduct electricity, with a coil arrangement (14), an initial electrode (16) connected to a first pole of the coil arrangement and with a second pole of the coil arrangement linked to a second electrode (18). According to the invention, to improve an intramedullary pin system of this type, especially with regard to ease of handling and flexible use during surgery, its stability, its biological effect, its therapeutic effectiveness and its cost effectiveness, the coil arrangement (14) is provided in an end cap arrangement, which is releasably and proximally connected to the pin body (12) and has an at least partially electrically conductive exterior contact surface, the contact surface is electrically insulated from the pin body, at least one section of the contact surface forms the first electrode (16) and at least one section of the pin body forms the second electrode (18).
