abstract A stent delivery system is provided that comprises an inner member and an expandable balloon mounted on the inner member. A stent, which is mounted around at least a portion of the expandable balloon, comprises a plurality of alternating, hingedly-coupled crown sections and strut sections. Each adjacent crown section and strut section is coupled together via a hinge comprising a region having a thickness substantially less than that of the adjacent crown section and strut section.
