A hardening resin composition that has appropriate viscosity suitable for sealing of light emitting devices and gives a hardening product exhibiting a refractive index equal to or higher than that of epoxy resin, excelling in heat resistance and light stability and exhibiting thermal stress relaxation. There is provided a hardening resin composition comprising an acrylic monomer of refractive index as high as 1.52 or above and a nonpolymerizable carbazole, optionally according to necessity together with a polymerizable carbazole. As the acrylic monomer of high refractive index, use is made of an acrylate or methacrylate having a fluorene skeleton, or bisphenol A skeleton, or biphenyl skeleton, or naphthalene skeleton, or anthracene skeleton. |
