Process for producing optically active (s)-7-hydroxy-6-methylheptane-2-one and precursor thereof |
abstract |
A process capable of industrially producing optically active (S)-7-hydroxy-6-methylheptane-2-one and precursor thereof simply and efficiently is provided. The process is a process for producing optically active (S)-2-methyl-6-oxoheptanoate (III) in which an esterase derived from a microorganism of the genus Aspergillus which is capable of preferentially hydrolyzing R form is allowed to act on 2-methyl-6-oxoheptanoate (II) thereby to optically resolve it. |
