titleOfInvention Synthetic crosstie and process for producing the same
abstract A synthetic crosstie that not only realizes substantially the same degree of uniform glass fiber distribution as in the production by means of a pultruder but also suppresses an increase of production cost and enables easy production near demand sites; and a process for producing the synthetic crosstie. In base material (18) of synthetic crosstie body (17) constituted of a urethane resin material as a synthetic resin material, there are disposed fiber bundles (20) composed of multiple glass fibers (21 ) rodlike retained in advance by means of retention material (19) constituted of substantially the same urethane resin material as that constituting the base material (18). The urethane resin material of the base material (18) and the urethane resin material of the retention material (19) are foamed. The foaming ratio of the urethane resin material of the retention material (19) is set so as to be higher than that of the urethane resin material of the base material (18) so that after foaming and curing, the glass fibers (21 ) protrude from the region of the retention material (19).
