abstract A transmission belt with enhanced long-term durability. There is provided a transmission belt having, disposed in the longitudinal direction of the belt, a rubber layer of crosslinked rubber composition wherein core wires bonded by the rubber layer are buried in the longitudinal direction of the belt, characterized in that the rubber layer having the core wires buried therein exhibits a tensile stress, as measured at a 10% elongation in the longitudinal direction of the belt at 125°C, of 1.1 to 1.7 MPa.
