Method for nitrating isourea |
abstract |
Disclosed is a method for commercially advantageously producing an N-nitroisourea, which is useful as a synthetic intermediate for pharmaceutical products and agricultural chemicals, or a salt of such an N-nitroisourea. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing a compound represented by the formula (2) below or a salt thereof, which method comprises a step for reacting a compound represented by the formula (1) below or a salt thereof with a nitrating agent in the presence of sulfur trioxide. (In the formula (1), R1 represents an optionally substituted linear or branched C1-C6 alkyl group; and R2 and R3 independently represent an optionally substituted linear or branched C1-C6 alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group or a substituted aryl group, or alternatively both R2 and R3 represent a hydrogen atom at the same time.) (In the formula (2), R1, R2 and R3 are as defined above.) |
