abstract The invention relates to a device (10) for drying tobacco product (15), in particular cut tobacco, wherein tobacco product (15) is introduced into an inner space (20) via an inlet (11), the tobacco product (15) is dried in the inner space (20) by means of a drying medium and is removed from the inner space (20) via an outlet (18). The device (10) is developed by the tobacco product (15) being conveyed in the inner space (20) from a sliding surface (22.1, 22.2,..., 22.n) to a distributing surface (21.1, 21.2,..., 21.n) or from a distributing surface (21.1, 21.2,..., 21.n) to a sliding surface (22.1, 22.2,..., 22.n), the tobacco product (15) being flowed through by the drying medium at the transition from the sliding surface (22.1, 22.2,..., 22.n) to the distributing surface (21.1, 21.2,..., 21.n) and/or at the transition from the distributing surface (21.1, 21.2,..., 21.n) to the sliding surface (22.1, 22.2,..., 22.n).
