Disclosed is a method for producing a separation membrane for direct liquid fuel cells wherein a polymerizable composition, which contains at least (a) an aromatic polymerizable monomer wherein one polymerizable group, at least one hydrogen atom and at least one substituent selected from the group consisting of a methyl group to be bonded in a para-position relative to the polymerizable group, an alkyl group having two or more carbon atoms, a halogen atom, an acyloxy group and an alkoxy group are bonded to an aromatic ring, (b) a crosslinkable polymerizable monomer, and (c) a polymerization initiator, is cured by polymerization or alternatively the polymerizable composition is impregnated into a porous membrane and then cured by polymerization, and after that a cation-exchange group is introduced into an aromatic ring derived from the aromatic polymerizable monomer. |
