abstract Disclosed is a sulfonic acid ester compound represented by the formula (1) below. Since this sulfonic acid ester compound has high stability and high solubility in a wide range of organic solvents, it easily forms a uniform solution, thereby enabling to achieve excellent device characteristics when used in an OLED device. This sulfonic acid ester compound is suitable as an electron-accepting material or a thermal acid generator. (1) (In the formula, A represents a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group; X represents a substituted or unsubstituted divalent hydrocarbon group; Y represents O, S or a substituted or unsubstituted divalent amino group; and Z represents a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group.)
