There is provided a method for infecting a target cell with a TSE agent, comprising: i) contacting said target cell with a membrane preparation, wherein the membrane preparation comprises the TSE agent and a donor membrane; and ii) infecting said target cell with the TSE agent. There is also provided a contiguous membrane, comprising a donor membrane and a membrane containing a TSE agent, wherein the TSE agent is selected from the group consisting of CJD, vCJD, familial CJD (eg. FFI or CSS), iatrogenic CJD, BSE, ovine BSE, and CWD. |
