A method of gel inhibition for the homopolymerization or copolymerization process of conjugated diene is disclosed. Particularly, a method of gel inhibition for anionic homopolymerization or copolymerization process of conjugated diene in solution by means of organolithium is disclosed. A gel inhibitor is used for the method. The gel inhibitor is a mixture of hydrocarbons which comprises 5-27% by weight of 1,2-butadiene, based on the total weight of the mixture. The said gel inhibitor is selected from the group consisting of C4 extract which is the byproduct from steam cracking or catalytic cracking of petroleum hydrocarbon ,the hydrogenated product of the said C4 extract ,the mixture of hydrocarbons having the same composition as the said C4 extract or the hydrogenated product thereof, and their combination. The gel inhibitor is cheap and effective to suppress the formation of gel. It is easy to obtain the starting material for preparing the gel inhibitor. |
