abstract The invention provides an air purifier for removing an aldehyde component (such as formaldehyde or acetaldehyde) contained in air extremely speedily and at high removal efficiency. A purifier composition for aldehyde-containing air comprising as the active ingredient at least one kind of porous inorganic particles selected from between silica gel particles and alumina particles which particles carry at least one hydrazide in an amount of 5 to 70 parts by weight per 100 parts of the particles with the void volumes of the porous inorganic particles ranging from 0.1 to 2.0ml/g; air-purifying materials for aldehyde -containing air which are produced by fixing the purifier composition on a substrate; and a particulate air-purifying material for aldehyde-containing air which has a mean particle diameter of 1 to 5mm.
