The invention provides the method of isolation of human olfactory ensheathing cells (OECs) from the olfactory mucosa and olfactory bulb of cadaver donors and the method of purification and storage of these cells. This method enables the usage of OECs for allogeneic transplantation in the treatment of diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system caused by trauma, ischemia, demyelination, and degeneration. |
