titleOfInvention Tracheotomy tube and method of using the same
abstract It is intended to provide a tracheotomy tube which makes it possible to surely inflate a balloon in inspiration, deliver air into the lungs without leakage, and supply aspirated air to the vocal cord when a patient wants to vocalize but, when a patient does not want to vocalize, prevent the penetration of saliva into the vocal cord during aspiration. Namely, a tracheotomy tube having a constitution wherein a balloon is maintained in the inflated state under atmospheric pressure; when air is blown from an artificial respiration device via a hole located in the inner pipe, the balloon is almost maintained in the state of closely adhering to the vocal cord; when a patient does not want to vocalize, it sustains the inflated state due to the aspirated air pressure, but, on the other hand, when the patient wants to vocalize, the balloon is deflated due to the aspirated air pressure so that the aspirated air is supplied toward the vocal cord via the gap between the balloon in the deflated shape and the air tract wall.
