Dope and method for manufacture of fiber using the dope |
abstract |
Disclosed is a dope which has an excellent moldability and can be molded into a fiber, a film, a pulp-like particle or the like by a wet bag process. Also disclosed is a method for manufacture of a fiber having excellent heat resistance, strength and elastic modulus. The dope comprises a polyamide having a repeat unit represented by the formula (I): wherein Ar1 represents at least one substituent selected from the group consisting of the following groups: and and has an intrinsic viscosity of 1.0 or more and a basic solvent. In the dope, the polyamide is contained at a concentration exceeding 10% by weight and up to 25% by weight. The dope has optical anisotropy at 50°C. The method for manufacture of the fiber is characterized by using the dope. |
