Disclosed is a method for manufacture of an ultra-low carbon steel slab, which comprises the steps of: adding Ti to a molten steel that has been decarbonated to a degree of 0.01% by mass in terms of a carbon concentration and then further adding at least one element selected from Ce, La and Nd to the mixture; injecting the mixed molten steel from a tundish into a mold using an immersion nozzle under such conditions where an Ar gas is blown from an ambient point located between a nozzle on the tundish and an ejection hole of the immersion nozzle at a gas flow rate of 3 Nl (normal litters)/min or less; and performing casting continuously. |
