abstract A molybdenum alloy characterized by having an oxygen content of 50 ppm or below and consisting of 0.2 to 1.5 wt.% of at least one carbide selected from among titanium carbide, hafnium carbide, zirconium carbide and tantalum carbide and the balance of molybdenum wherein with respect to the carbide, there is portion of 2 or above aspect ratio. Thus, there are provided a molybdenum alloy with excellent high-temperature strength and, excelling in high-temperature strength, an X-ray tube rotating anode target, X-ray tube and melting crucible.
