abstract The present invention provides methods and uses of antibodies binding to a linear epitope of TIMP-I for detection of invasiveness, to distinguish between a benign tumour from a malignant tumour, as well as methods to distinguish between adenomas and adenocarcinomas. The method and uses comprises localizing antibody binding to specific cells at the time of analysis, wherein the localization of said antibody to stromal cells are indicative of a malignant tumour, an adenocarcinoma or a pseudoinvasive adenoma.
