A body fat measuring device comprises at least a pair of first electrodes arranged at first and second portions sandwiching the belly of the subject and electrodes including a first belly electrode and arranged on the surface of the belly. The first belly electrode is composed of a pair of second electrodes and a pair of third electrodes aligned in a direction generally perpendicular to a cross section of the belly. When a current is applied through the first electrodes, a first potential difference between a predetermined pair of electrodes of the first belly electrodes is detected (S12). When a current is applied through the third electrodes, a second potential difference between the second electrodes is detected (S20, S28, S36, S44). From the two detected potential differences and information on the physical constitution of the subject, the amount of visceral fat is computed (S48). |
