abstract | Disclosed is a separator for use in an energy-storage device, which comprises a microporous film mainly comprising a polyolefin resin having acid resistance as a backbone material and an inorganic powder capable of increasing the electrolyte-carrying property, wherein the polyolefin resin is produced by a hole-opening agent removing method. The separator has a high void volume and a low resistance while maintaining a satisfactory level of mechanical strength. Also disclosed is an energy-storage device having the separator. The separator is characterized by comprising a microporous film, wherein the microporous film is produced by melting a raw material composition composed mainly of a polyolefin resin, an inorganic powder and a plastisizer under heating to form a sheet, molding the sheet by rolling to form a thin film, removing the plasticizer from the sheet, and molding the sheet by rolling to form a thin film. In the microporous film, the polyolefin resin is contained as a backbone material, the inorganic powder is contained in an amount of 50% by mass or more. The microporous film has micropores having an average pore size of 1 μm or smaller and also has a void volume of 80% or more. |
