abstract The present invention is directed to headwear including a cooling device formed using a woven or non-woven material. More particularly, the invention relates to headwear including a cooling device formed of an absorptive material such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) having high absorptive capacity. The headwear and the cooling device are designed to fit securely on the wearer's head or with a hat. When moistened, the cooling device provides sustained cooling via an evaporative cooling process.
