titleOfInvention High-pressure gas discharge lamp
abstract Various embodiments of high-pressure gas discharge lamps are described whose electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is substantially improved, particularly during the starting or switching-on phase of the lamp, and which are thus particularly suitable for use in an environment that is sensitive in the way it reacts to electromagnetic interference, such as in vehicles for example. This is achieved in essence by reducing the work function for electrons of the electrode material and/or by increasing the mean temperature of at least one of the electrodes and/or by increasing the homogeneity of the surface of at least one of the electrodes.
