Water-soluble metal alcoholate derivative, process for production of the derivative, and solid gelatinous agent for external application comprising the derivative |
abstract |
Disclosed is a process for production of a water-soluble silane derivative in which the separation/purification of a product can be performed readily and which can be performed under an industrially practicable temperature condition (i.e., at 90˚C or lower). Also disclosed is a compound which can be used in the preparation of a solid gelatinous agent for external application which is excellent in morphologic stability against change in temperature or a substance added to the agent and is also excellent in usability. A water-soluble silane derivative can be produced by a process comprising performing the substitution reaction between a metal alkoxide and a polyhydric alcohol in the presence of a solid catalyst. In the process, the catalyst can be separated from the product quite readily, and the reaction can be performed under an industrially practicable temperature condition (i.e., at 90˚C or lower). The metal alcoholate derivative may be blended into an aqueous preparation for external application to fully solidify the preparation. The resulting solid gelatinous preparation is excellent in morphologic stability against change in temperature or a substance added to the preparation. The preparation can be disintegrated readily upon use, and therefore is also excellent in usability (e.g., an easiness to be scooped up with fingers, spreadability during application). |
