titleOfInvention Hydrogen gas sensor
abstract Disclosed is a hydrogen gas sensor whose sensing function is hardly affected by the outer space, or a hydrogen gas sensor which hardly affects the outer space. Specifically disclosed is a hydrogen sensor (10) comprising a first electrode (12), a second electrode (14) and an electrolyte (16) which is in contact with these electrodes. The first electrode and the second electrode are made of materials having different chemical potentials to a hydrogen gas. Namely, the first electrode contains a material having a relatively high chemical potential, and the second electrode contains a material having a relatively low chemical potential. The hydrogen gas sensor senses a hydrogen gas basing on the value of an electromotive force generated between the electrodes, and this sensor is characterized in that at least the joint portion of the electrolyte and the first electrode and the joint portion of the electrolyte and the second electrode are covered with an outer coat (20) which has hydrogen selective permeability.
