abstract Pharmaceutical composition comprising pantoprazole as the active ingredient. The pantoprazole is present in the form of particles having an average particle size within the range of 60 µm to 250 µm. Pantoprazole having an average particle size within the range of 60 µm to 250 µm is prepared by a process comprising the steps of wetting pantoprazole with water having a pH of 10 to 12 in a high shear mixer, passing the wet pantoprazole through a sieve having a mesh size of 0.8 to 2 mm, and drying the mass in a fluid bed dryer .
