[PROBLEMS] To provide a process for producing a water-absorbing resin which exhibits a high water-holding capacity, high water absorption under pressure, and a high water absorption speed and which little contains water solubles and is therefore favorably usable as sanitary material. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A process for the production of water-absorbing resins by reversed-phase suspension polymerization of a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer wherein the reversed-phase suspension polymerization is conducted in two or more stages, characterized in that in at least one of the second to final stages, the polymerization is conducted in the presence of an aminocarboxylic acid compound added. |
