abstract The agent comprises, as the main ingredient, a nanocapsule of an inorganic salt of a polyvalent metal which has a retinoid (e.g., retinoic acid) encapsulated therein. The agent can penetrate into a joint when applied onto the skin to thereby induce the production of hyaluronic acid in a synovial membrane or chondrocyte. When the nanocapsule is applied onto the skin for a certain period of time, the inflammatory cytokine level or MMP level in the blood can be reduced.
