titleOfInvention Polymer dithiophosphoric hydroxy fatty esters, method for producing the same and use thereof as lubricant additives
abstract The invention relates to polymer dithiophosphoric hydroxy fatty esters. They are produced by a method in which an epoxidized fatty acid ester is reacted with a substituted dithiophosphoric acid in such a manner that not all epoxide groups of the fatty acid ester are affected. The reaction is followed by an intramolecular cross-linking while forming hydroxyl groups. According to an alternative method, the epoxidized fatty acid ester is cross-linked to give a polymer intermediate which has non-reacted epoxide groups, and the free epoxide groups then react with the substituted dithiophosphoric acid while forming hydroxyl groups. The inventive polymer dithiophosphoric hydroxy fatty esters are generally suitable for use as lubricant additives, especially for improving the antiwear effect and aging stability of lubricants.
