Disclosed is a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using a positive electrode wherein the positive electrode active material contains a lithium-containing complex oxide, the peak pore diameter of the positive electrode mix layer is not more than 0.7 μm, and the pore volume of the positive electrode mix layer is not less than 0.05 cm3/g and not more than 0.3 cm3/g per unit weight of the positive electrode active material, or a negative electrode wherein the negative electrode active material contains a carbon material, the peak pore diameter of the negative electrode mix layer is not more than 0.7 μm, and the pore volume of the negative electrode mix layer is not less than 0.2 cm3/g and not more than 0.4 cm3/g per unit weight of the negative electrode active material. |
