abstract |
Provided is a process for producing an optically active 2-substituted propanal derivative, more specifically a process for producing an optically active 2-substituted propanal derivative by stereoselectively reducing a carbon-carbon double bond in a 2-substituted acrolein derivative with an enzyme source capable of stereoselectively reducing the carbon-carbon double bond stereoselectively. The process can produce an optically active 2-substituted propanal derivative which is useful as an intermediate for a pharmaceutical, sweetening agent or the like, particularly an optically active 2-alkylpropanal derivative, from a inexpensive, readily available starting material in a simple manner. |
