abstract |
The invention relates to a method for representing the microstructure of an animal's or a human's lungs by introducing a fluoride-containing contrast gas into the lungs that are to be represented, determining the apparent diffusion coefficient of the contrast gas with the aid of diffusion-weighted <SUP>19</SUP>fluoride magnetic resonance tomography and based on the determined apparent diffusion coefficients, and representing the microstructure of the lungs. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the disclosed method. The invention allows microstructures of the lungs to be represented for the first time at high resolution with non-invasive measures by means of fluorinated gases. |
