abstract |
The invention relates to a method for production of bead polymers with an average particle size in the range 1 µm to 40 µm, whereby a polymerisable composition is dispersed and polymerised in an aqueous phase with generation of a dispersion stabilised by an aluminium compound having a shear speed = 10<SUP>3</SUP> s<SUP>-1</SUP>. A polymerisable composition is used, comprising, based on the total weight thereof, a) more than 50.0 wt. % of at least one compound of formula (I), whereby the groups <SUP>1</SUP>R to <SUP>6</SUP>R are as given in the description, b) 0.1 wt. % to 10.0 wt. % of at least one cross-linker and d) less than 49.9 wt. % of at least one compound of formula (II) whereby the groups R and <SUP>7</SUP>R to <SUP>9</SUP>R are as defined in the description. The bead polymers produced by said method are particularly suitable for the production of moulded bodies with light scattering properties. |
