titleOfInvention Device for the optical inspection of a plurality of samples in cavities of a microtitre plate
abstract A device (2) is disclosed for the optical inspection of a plurality of samples (4) in cavities (6) of a microtitre plate (8). The samples (4) can be successively brought into the excitation light path (12) of excitation light emitted by a light source (10), and emit light over an emission light path (26) towards a detector (28). According to the invention, a perforated mirror or perforated grating (22) is arranged between the light source (10) and the detector (28), in the excitation light path (12) and in the emission light path (26), in such a way that the excitation light passes through the hole (20) before hitting the sample (4) being inspected, and the emission light from the sample (4) is substantially reflected or diffracted by a surface (30) which surrounds the hole (20), and is directed to the detector (28), separately from the excitation light. An objective lens (24) whose focal point (F3) lies in the area of the sample (4) being inspected is arranged between the perforated mirror or perforated grating (22) and the microtitre plate (8).
