abstract An automatic machine for dispensing metered amounts of water and dental alginate, comprising a water container and an alginate container. In said automatic machine, a predetermined amount of each of said substances is conveyed from the respective container to a dispensing point. During operation of the automatic machine, the dental alginate is moved within the alginate container so that it is uniformly distributed and any alginate residues still adhered to the inner walls of the alginate container are detached. Furthermore, said automatic machine includes a controller with a memory for storing dispensing programs, which memory can be programmed by various producers to control the amount of dispensed dental alginate.
