titleOfInvention Display element and electric device using the same
abstract A display element includes an upper electrode substrate (12) at the display surface side and a reflection sheet (rear sheet) (10) arranged at the rear side of the upper electrode substrate (12) so as to form an upper space (display space) (11) between the upper electrode substrate (12) and the reflection sheet (10). The reflection sheet (10) has a through hole (liquid-containing space) (15) formed at one end of the reflection sheet so as to communicate with the upper space (11). Moreover, an upper electrode (first electrode) (30) is arranged at the top and bottom of the upper space (11) while a lower electrode (second electrode) (32) is arranged so as to surround the through hole (15). The upper electrode (30) and lower electrode (32) are connected to a switch (drive unit) (35) and an AC power source (drive unit) (36).
