Also specifically disclosed is a metal complex having a chemical composition of [(PtII)2(MI)4(X)2(L)6] wherein MI represents AgI, AuI or CuI, X represents Cl-, Br- or I-, and L is a compound represented by the chemical formula shown below. (Chemical formula) In the above chemical formula, R1, R2 and R3 independently represent a hydrogen atom, a chlorine atom, a hydroxyl group, a phenyl group, a methyl group or the like. In this connection, at least one or more of R1, R2 and R3 are not hydrogen atoms.
