titleOfInvention Rare earth activated alkaline earth metal fluorohalide photostimulable phosphor and radiation image conversion panel using the same
abstract Provided are a rare earth activated alkaline earth metal fluorohalide photostimulable phosphor which can provide a high quality radiation image and also is reduced in the lowering of brightness by the X-ray damage due to repeated use; and a radiation image conversion panel using the above phosphor. Use is made of a rare earth activated alkaline earth metal fluorohalide photostimulable phosphor which is represented by the following general formula (1) and exhibits a width of a spectrum having an intensity being 80 % relative to the maximum luminous intensity of 23.0 nm or less. General formula (1) Ba(1-x)M2(x)FBr(y)I(1-y):aM1,bLn,cO wherein M1 is Li, Na, K, Rb or Cs, M2 is Be, Mg, Sr or Ca, Ln is Ce, Pr, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Tm, Dy, Ho, Nd, Er, or Yb, and x and the like are 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.3, 0 ≤ y ≤ 0.9, 0 ≤ a ≤ 0.05, 0 ≤ b ≤ 0.2 and 0 ≤ c ≤ 0.1.
