abstract The invention relates to a method for producing aromatic amines by hydrogenating nitro-aromatic compounds in the presence of catalysts consisting in forming, in a reactor, a fluid amine-containing reaction mixture from which the catalysts are separated. After the separation of the catalysts, the inventive method consists in measuring the absorption of UV/VIS radiation by said reaction mixture in order to determine the concentration of nitro and nitroso compounds therein.
