abstract |
Tubing (31) made from a mixture comprising polyimide and fluororesin particles through molding and heat curing wherein at least part of the fluororesin particles present in the neighborhood of the surface layers of the tubing (31) precipitate on the outside or inside surface of the tubing (31) through melting and flowing and form a fluororesin film over part or the whole of the surface. The tubing (31) can be produced by applying a mixed dope obtained by adding fluororesin particles to a polyimide precursor dope on the outside surface of a mold, cast-molding the coating in a predetermined thickness, heating the resulting coating to attain imidation with the maximum temperature of the imidation exceeding the melting point of the fluororesin, cooling the coating, and separating the resulting tubing from the mold. Thus, the invention provides tubing which is lowered in the coefficient of kinetic friction particularly of the outside surface and is advantageous in durability and manufacturing cost; and a process for the production thereof. |
