abstract The present invention relates to a method for the treatment or prevention of a neurodegenerative disorder or an or an autoimmune-related disorder, particularly, CNS inflammatory autoimmune disorder, by administering to a subject in need thereof, a therapeutically effective amount of any one of an antiarrhythmic agent, a cholesterol absorption inhibitor agent, a composition comprising the same or any combinations thereof. The invention further relates to the use of an antiarrhythmic agent and/or a cholesterol absorption inhibitor agent in the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment or prevention of a neurodegenerative disorder or an autoimmune related disorder. A method for protection of neuronal cells from a neurodegenerative process, is also provided by the invention.
