Disclosed is a method for oxidizing a hydrocarbon, alcohol or aldehyde comprising a step wherein a hydrocarbon, alcohol or aldehyde is oxidized into a corresponding alcohol, aldehyde, carboxylic acid or carboxylate in a liquid phase having a region wherein oxygen is substantially existent and another region wherein oxygen is not substantially existent in the presence of a catalyst containing palladium. In this connection, the region wherein oxygen is not substantially existent is 0.1-10% by volume relative to the total of the region wherein oxygen is substantially existent and the region wherein oxygen is not substantially existent. |
